WA Student Assistance Payment
The WA Student Assistance Payment (WASAP) helps parents and carers with cost-of-living pressures associated with sending their children to school.
All WA school students with an active enrolment at a public school, non-government school, or registered for home education, are eligible for the WASAP.
To apply, you will need each student’s WA student number (WASN). This 8-digit number can be located on school reports (including previous NAPLAN results), or possibly on the student’s school-issued SmartRider.
You can claim $250 for each secondary student, and $150 for each primary or kindy student.
The easiest way to apply is through the ServiceWA app, but you may alternatively submit your application electronically through the Department of Education’s website, or by mailing in a paper form.
If you need more assistance in claiming your WA Student Assistance Payment, please feel free to contact my office, or visit your closest ServiceWA Digital Assist Kiosk.
